Marathon Man Charged With DWI Following Collision in Marathon State Police Say
Around 4:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 5th, State Police say Troopers responded to a collision on West Main Street in the Village of Marathon at the Dollar General. On scene, Troopers learned a Nissan Rogue was making a left turn out of the parking lot of the store when it was struck by a Kawasaki motorcycle.
When Troopers were interviewing the motorcycle operator, identified as 32 year old Scott Spence of Marathon, State Police say an odor of alcohol was coming from Spence. He was then asked to perform a sobriety test, which State Police say he conducted poorly.
Troopers arrested and charged Spence with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor. He was taken to the State Police Barracks where State Police say his reportable B.A.C. was .09%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets before being turned over to a sober third party.
