Yesterday morning around 9:15, both the Marathon Fire Department and the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) were dispatched to a high speed motorcycle crash in the area of 1351 Route 11 just north of the Town of Marathon.
Law enforcement on scene after the crash reported to dispatch the operator of the motorcycle was breathing, but reportedly had two broken legs. A helicopter was then requested.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and the operator was assisted by 3 MAVAC Paramedics as well as a critical care technician and two firefighters who were certified first responder EMS.
Guthrie Air responded to the landing area created by members of the Marathon Fire Department within 20 minutes of their time of call. The patient was transported to a regional trauma center and their condition is currently unknown.
