This Saturday, September 10th in the Village of Marathon will be the annual 1890 Union Fair. The fair’s theme for this year is “Marathon United-Strong & Proud.”
A parade will head down Main St at noon and will be led by the Town Supervisor and Village of Marathon Mayor. Following the supervisor and mayor will be representatives from churches, school, organizations, and clubs that are a part of Marathon.
A brochure from the 1890 Union Fair reads: “This Fair celebrates the American Family and is dedicated to the preservation of families and the things they do together. Life in a mall town best exemplifies what America is all about. Communities filled with pride and spirit give young people a safe environment in which to grow.”
