New York’s maple production value totaled $30.6 million dollars last year, a 25% increase from 2021, according to Charles Walkers from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Services, NY Office.
For 2022, the average price per gallon was down 30 cents from 2021, with a 2022 average of $37.50.
Syrup production for 2023 totaled 750 thousand gallons, down 8% from 2022 production. Maple taps are believed to be at 2.50 million for 2023, also down from last year. Total maple syrup production totaled 4.18 million gallons in the country, down 15% from last year.
