Man Taken by Helicopter After Sustaining Head Injury From Fall

Around 5:30 Tuesday evening, Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) were dispatched to an address on Merrill’s Creek Road in the Town of Marathon for a traumatic injury. Reports indicated a man had struck his head on a rock while assisting in moving a load of lumber.
After the fall, the man was knocked unconscious for a few minutes before he regained consciousness and was confused of what had happened. In a release, MAVAC says their agency requested the assistance of Marathon Fire to set up a landing zone for a helicopter from Guthrie Air. He was then flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre Pennsylvania.
