An argument at 2:30 am St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) led to weapons charges for a man from Georgia.
Cortland Police say Yusvin Perez was arrested following a fight in a gas station parking lot at 152 Clinton Avenue. Four men were fighting and two were hurt. Perez is accused of pistol whipping one, cutting his face.
Two of the men were in the country illegally from Guatemala and were interviewed by the Border Patrol and released.
Perez was charged with Felony Assault, Weapons Possession and Criminal Possession of a Firearm – unregistered.
He was arraigned and police say he was bailed out of the county jail within two hours after someone posted $10,000 cash bail.
Perez is due in City Court today (Monday, March 21).
