Man Gets Dumped: Throws Molotov Cocktail in Victims Apartment

On Saturday, September 17th around 2 in the morning, the City of Cortland Police Department as well as the City of Cortland Fire Department responded to 10 Northcliffe Rd. in the City of Cortland.




During the course of the investigation, police learned that someone had thrown a Molotov Cocktail through the window in an attempt to burn the building.

A victim inside the residence was injured from the attack with minor burn injuries to her body. There was also fire and smoke damage in the apartment before firefighters extinguished the fire.

Further investigation by police revealed that Jeremy N. Jenney of Cortland, NY was in a relationship with one of the victims in the apartment, and that the relationship had recently ended.

Cortland City Police arrested Jenney after their investigation and charged him with Arson in the 1st, Arson in the 2nd, Reckless Endangerment 1st, Assault 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd – two counts, Aggravated Family Offense. All of these charges are Felonies.

Jeremy N. Jenney was sent to Cortland County Jail without bail.
