Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Route 11 in Marathon for a suspicious vehicle complaint on Wednesday, September 20th.
After officers arrived at the scene of the complaint and began their investigation, it was found the vehicle in question was recently reported stolen in Bath, NY, by the State Police.
Inside the vehicle was 27 year old Justin L. Hyde of Addison, NY. He was arrested by officers and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd, a Felony.
Hyde was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process the following day (September 21) and was then remanded to Cortland County Jail on $2,500 cash bail, $5,000 bond, or $25,000 partially secured insurance bond. He is to return to Marathon Town Court early next month.
