Man Extradited from Tennessee to Face Charges in Cortland County

Officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department travelled to Tennessee this week to extradite a man wanted locally for numerous violent and non-violent crimes.

Now in custody is 33-year-old Casey A. Brown, currently listed in Knoxville, TN.

After being arrested in McMinn County, he was extradited back to Cortland County on Wednesday (January 22) and arraigned the following morning on slate of charges.

Information and a photo were provided by Sgt. Chad Burhans from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

  • Criminal Possession Weapon 3rd Degree- D Felony
  • Aggravated Family Offense (5 counts)-E Felony
  • Menacing 2nd Degree- A Misdemeanor
  • Criminal Contempt 1st Degree (4 counts)-E Felony
  • Criminal Contempt 1st Degree (2 counts)-E Felony
  • Harassment 2nd Degree (2 counts)-Violation
  • Criminal sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree- D Felony
  • Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree- E Felony
  • Petit Larceny- A Misdemeanor
  • Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree- E Felony
  • Petit Larceny- A Misdemeanor
  • Welfare Fraud 5th Degree- A Misdemeanor
  • Bail Jumping 2nd Degree- E Felony
  • Conspiracy 5th Degree- A Misdemeanor
  • Promoting Prison Contraband 1st Degree- D Felony
  • Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree- A Misdemeanor
