Last Thursday (May 19th) the Cortland County Sheriff’s department responded to the area of Bennie Road in the Town of Cortlandville. During the investigation officers determined that Cody B. Carroll had pointed a rifle at an individual during the course of an argument on hunting in the area.
Carroll was found to be in possession of the rifle when he was not permitted to possess any type of rifle in New York. He was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s office where he was processed and then released on his own recognizance due to Bail reform.
He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Menacing 2nd (both misdemeanors) as well as multiple violations.
Carroll is due back in Town of Cortlandville Court tomorrow (May 25).
