Last Thursday, July 21 the City of Cortland Police Department responded to a reported disturbance on Pomeroy St. in the City of Cortland.
Once police arrived, officers began their investigation of what occurred and found that John Case of Cortland, NY had threatened another person by wielding a machete to their throat while also threatening them.
Officers found Case at the front of the residence and when trying to take him into custody Case began to fight with officers.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a felony, menacing in the 2nd degree, criminal trespass 2nd, and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors.
John Case was taken to Cortland County Jail with no bail.
