The Arc of Madison Cortland was awarded a grant for its recreational program for people with disabilities.
Support comes from NYSARC Trust Services, which administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) and pooled trusts that help these individuals by maintaining their eligibility for Medicaid and SSI.
During 2020, NYSARC Trust awarded a total of $2,636,000 in grants to ARC Chapters statewide.
“Even in these unprecedented times, their support and funding has remained unwavering. Like so many organizations during these challenging times, The Arc Madison Cortland has had to adapt and evolve our supports. Ensuring families have what they need, keeping people safe and staying on top of all the guidance during this global pandemic has been our top priority. This grant will help us continue in our overall vision: ’empowering people, throughout their lives, to reach their full potential.'”
-Sue Litera, Director of Development & Communications at Arc of Madison Cortland

The nonprofit is also fundraising during the holidays by selling handmade holiday cards.
Each design was thoughtfully crafted by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the agency’s senior program. (see below)
Boxes are $10 each and include ten festive greeting cards, along with a clever celebratory message to welcome the holiday season.
Cards can be purchased online at www.arcofmc.org/shop.
Every dollar raised by the cards goes directly back into ARC programming.
