‘Lowe’s Heroes’ Award To Jump-Start Dwyer Park Improvements

Local News

The Friends of Dywer Park group has received a monetary award from the Lowe’s Heroes Program in order to fix up Dwyer Memorial Park in Little York.

The group applied for the Program a few months ago and just received a call Tuesday (October 16) that it had won an award.

Group member and Cortland County Legislator Linda Jones will meet with representatives from the program on Monday to start looking at exactly what can be done to best improve the park.

An official statement from the Program:

“Lowe’s embraces teamwork as a core value and a key ingredient in maintaining an engaged work force. We believe that by working together we can build something better — for our company, our customers and our communities. Transforming lives one community at a time — that’s been the mission of Lowe’s Heroes since the volunteer program began in our stores more than 10 years ago.”

The Lowe’s Heroes program offers up to $2,500 in materials and the labor is provided by their employees.
