Community Officer Jesse Abbott and Sergeant Tony Natoli accepted the award from management staff at a small gathering this morning outside the store on Bennie Road.

Abbott says the money will be used to support the many community events hosted by his office throughout the year.

Some examples include “Coffee with a Cop”, the “Stone Soup Community Outreach Picnic” and “Shop with a Cop” , which was launched last year to give a select group of kids a special day of fun with the department around the holidays, including a mini-shopping spree at Walmart.
