Local unemployment rates have been released from October.
The New York State Department of Labor released preliminary local area unemployment rates.
Rates are calculated using methods prescribed by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
To recap last week’s statewide press release, New York State’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate
decreased from 7.1% in September to 6.9% in October 2021.
Local Area Unemployment Rates from October 2021:
Cortland: 4.2%
Tompkins: 3.5%
