Local Sports March 29, 2021The Syracuse Orange Men’s Basketball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on Saturday after a 62-46 loss. Houston will play Oregon State in the Elite 8.
The SUNY Cortland Softball split a doubleheader against St. John Fisher on Saturday by scores of 4-1 and 4-5. Their next set of doubleheaders will be Thursday. April 1st, against Oneonta with the first game starting at 1 PM.
The SUNY Cortland Baseball team split a 2 game set against Cobleskill 9-0 and 4-5. Their next set will be tomorrow against Cazenovia starting at noon.
The SUNY Cortland Women’s Lacrosse team routed Potsdam 19-0 over the weekend. Toni Cashman and Hannah Keech each scored 3. Cecelia Procopio, Kiki Meager, Hannah Tiso, and Rachel Janis scored 2 each and Holly Wright, Amy Hoeffner, Emily Goebel, Paige Hommel, and Katie Goodrich each added a goal as well.
Their next game will be Wednesday, March 31st, at 4 PM against St John Fisher.
The Syracuse Crunch beat the Rochester Americans 4-3 to win their 4th straight game. Their next game will be Wednesday, March 27th, at 7 PM against the Utica Comets.
The Binghamton Devils dropped 2 games this weekend against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms by scores of 6-3 and 3-2. Their next game will be Wednesday, March 31st, at 7 PM against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
