The SUNY Cortland Men’s Baseball team swept the Doubleheader on Saturday against New Paltz by scores of 17-1 and 4-3. James Varian and Paul Franzese each knocked in 3 rums in a 17 run effort. In the second game, Andrew Michaski had 2 RBIs and knocked in the eventual game winning RBI in the 6th inning on a base hit to the right side of the infield.

The Red Dragons also swept a doubleheader on Sunday by scores of 17-1 (You’re not seeing double) and 5-1. Paul Franzese went 3-4 with 3  RBIs, 3 runs, and 2 walks in the first game of the double header. In the second game, Scott Giordano went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Shane Mugnolo pitched 5 innings and gave up no earned runs and got his second win of the season.

Their next 2 games will be Wednesday, April 21st against Brockport with the first game starting at 1 PM.


The SUNY Cortland Softball team swept a doubleheader against New Paltz by scores of 5-1 and 12-3. Tori Reich went 1-3 with 2 RBI and Kelly O’Gorman went 2-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Karlee Weeden pitched 7 innings of 1 run ball to help secure a win.

In the second game, Cailey Cuttita went 1-4 but knocked in 4 runs. Kelly O’Gorman went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI: a solo shot to lead the game off. Courtney Kane pitched 4 innings and gave up 1 earned run.

Their next 2 games will be Saturday, April 24th at Plattsburgh with the first game starting at 2 PM.


The SUNY Cortland Men’s Lacrosse team beat Geneseo 14-13 on Friday in a nail biter. Pat Doyen scored 4 goals, Colton Smith and Brandon Stiles scored 3 each, Zak Jones scored 2, and Dante Yacavone and Connor Leonard scored 1 each.

Then on Sunday, the Red Dragons(Of Cortland) beat Oneonta 21-5  to move to 6-3 on the season. Dante Yacavone, Troy Morris, and Colton Smith scored 4 goals each, Pat Doyen and Matthew Thrasher scored 2 each, and Brandon Stiles, Connor Leonard, Collin Peers, Sean Barrett and Kyle Boden each scored a goal.

Their next game will be Friday, April 23rd at 4 PM against Brockport.


The Tompkins Cortland Community College Baseball team split a doubleheader against Cayuga by scores of 4-1(L) and 8-3(W). In their win, Taj Muhammad went 1-4 with a double and knocked in 3 RBIs. Jayden Jeminson went 2-4 with 2 RBIs. Hyeonho Cho pitched 7 innings and gave up 2 earned runs and helped the Panthers secure a win.

Their next 2 game set will be at Herkimer College tomorrow with the first game starting at 2 PM.


The Syracuse Crunch beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4-1 over the weekend. Otto Somppi scored 2 goals, and Boris Katchouk and Taylor Raddysh each scored a goal.

Their next game is tonight against the Utica Comets at 7 PM.


The Binghamton Devils beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pengiuins 6-3 on Friday. Nate Schnarr led the way with 2 goals while AJ Greer, Ben Thomson, Danick Martel, and and Kevil Bahl each added a goal.

The Devils then proceeded to drop a game against the Hershey Bears on Saturday 6-3.

Their next game is Wednesday, April 21st at 7 PM against the Utica Comets.
