Local Sales Tax Collections in October Up Nearly 13% From 2020 and have exceeded Pre-Pandemic Levels by 7%.
Local sales tax collections in New York grew by 12.9% in October compared to a year ago, State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced on Friday. (November 19th)
Collections for all localities totaled more than $1.5 billion, up $175 million from October 2020.
Nearly every county saw year-over-year collections for October grow by double digits, including Cortland County growing by 23.3% up from $25.1 Million to $31 Million.
Tompkins county was not far behind at 21.6% up from $41.4 Million to $50.4 Million.
