Local Libraries Receive State Funding

Over a dozen libraries in the 52nd New York Senate District have received state funding, New York Senator Lea Webb’s Office has announced. In total, $36,000 was announced in funding with each library to receive $2,000.

For Cortland County, the Cortland Free Library, Phillips Free Library (Homer), Kellogg Free Library (Cincinnatus), Lamont Memorial Free Library (McGraw), and Peck Memorial Library (Marathon) each received state funding.

The funding will assist each library in expanding programming, purchase essential supplies and equipment, and to invest in technology upgrades and services that will benefit those who visit the library.

“Investing in our libraries means investing in our community’s future,” said Senator Lea Webb. “Libraries are the heartbeat of our community, where people access information, learn new skills, and connect with others. I am proud to be joined by representatives from our local libraries to announce the funding I’ve secured. This investment will help to enhance the services and programs that enrich our community’s cultural and educational landscape every day.”
