On Monday (Oct. 11) evening, the next generation of first responders completed their first portion of the firefighter training series with a tanker shuttle exercise.
Students learned how to assist a driver backing up to a portable pond; refill a tanker; and set up a Venturi system to transfer water from multiple portable ponds.
Homer, Marathon, Cortlandville and Dryden Fire Departments provided engines, tankers and drivers to support their students in the class.
