Local “Code Blue” centers stay open until April 30

Local News

Cortland County’s local “Code Blue” Warming Centers will remain open until April 30 despite the impending change to more Spring-like weather (hopefully) to continue helping residents without adequate shelter during the uncertain times caused by COVID-19.

County DSS officials praised both the Salvation Army and Grace & Holy Spirit Church for “graciously” extending their commitments to providing housing services to anyone in need.

Only those who are not experiencing signs or symptoms of the coronavirus can be accepted at either center.

The Grace and Holy Spirit Church Center is located at 13 Court Street in Cortland and will remain open Monday – Friday from 4:30pm to 8:00pm, along with weekends from 8:00am – 8:00pm.

Cortland’s Salvation Army Center is located at 138 Main Street and will be open every night from 8:00pm – 8:00am.

Representatives of both agencies say every effort will be made to remain open through April 30, 2020.

Please call (607) 753-9363 to verify Center status before referring someone.
