The Little York Lake Special Taxing District has now been approved by the county legislature at last Thursday’s session, but it will be up to the voters to decide as this has been put up for referendum.
The Little York Lake Preservation Society, Inc. first recommended the creation of this Special Taxing District for the properties that surround Little York Lake. (See image below for taxing map of properties)
The name of this district would be “Little York Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District.”
The county did receive the maps, plans, reports and recommendations from the Little York Lake Preservation Society, Inc., and the Agricultural, Planning and Environmental Committee in their last meeting recommended to create this district. A public hearing was held on October 26 for anyone wishing to speak regarding the creation of this District.
This new taxing district won’t begin until January 1st, 2023 if approved by voters.
