The Village of Homer Board of Trustees met last night (January 8) and officially approved final amendments to the 2020-21 budget, which now takes effect immediately.
Village Clerk Dan Egnor stopped by WXHC to discuss the process with Vinnie Bellardini for this morning’s edition of Happening in Homer.
For the second straight year, the village tax rate will remain at 0.5%.
Despite an active agenda for the coming year, Egnor credits the lack of a tax increase to the hard work of members of his office including Deputy Clerk Kristin Case, who’s managed to identify and fix longstanding discrepancies in water rates.
He also mentioned Village Treasurer Tanya Digennaro for coming up with a way to produce the budget in a way that more accurately displays information and is accessible to the public.
This year’s budgets for the General, Sewer and Water Funds can be seen on the village treasurer’s website.
