Lionel Richie has announced his 35-date “All The Hits!” tour. The arena trek features Mariah Carey taking a step down to serve as the opening act for the former Commodores leader. The tour kicks off on March 15th at Baltimore, Maryland’s Royal Farms Arena wraps over 10 weeks later on May 27th at Sunrise, Florida’s BB&T Center.
Over the past four-plus decades, Lionel Richie has brought his classic hits to every corner of then globe. He told us that without fail — no two shows are alike: “Every city has its own personality. All I’m gonna do is provide the songs, some surprises. You’ve got to have surprises — that’s the best part about it. Now, I can’t tell you where we’re going with this, but I. . . all I can tell you is it’s gonna be ridiculous, because that’s the way I feel about it. I don’t like to make it stiff. And the rest of it is called that crazy audience shows up in Chicago, and in Dallas, in Atlanta, New York, and Philadelphia, and Hong Kong, London, and Rome — they’re insane — and what they do with the rest of the show is the magic of the evening.”
