The annual Light of My Life event at the Homer Village Green on Friday evening provided an opportunity for people to pay tribute to loved ones and support local Hospice caregivers.
“They’re so compassionate. It’s a hard time for people and it’s great to have the support,” said Barbara Closson, the Board President of Hospice of Cortland County. “That’s what people need the most.”
“The people that I know that have been involved in hospice care have been very grateful and thankful for the support that not only the patient receives but the family members in going through this process that is inevitable,” added Closson. “It’s great that we are able to maintain it in Cortland County.”
Names can be added to the tree light display on the Green if received by December 15.

Closson is proud of the Hospice Care provided in Cortland County, reminding that the organization is a reference for anyone who can use assistance. “We provide Hospice Care for anyone in Cortland County. So, if there’s any need or any questions at all about Hospice Care – When do I do it? How do I go about it? What do I need to know? Any of those questions are just a phone call away.”
