The deadline to file your taxes is Tuesday, April 18th at 11:59pm. The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance is reminding New Yorker’s to file their personal income tax return and to pay any taxes owed to the government, both Federal and State.
Those who need to file can find free resources available on the NY Tax Department website, found HERE.
“We want to provide the most convenient and efficient filing experience possible,” said New York State Department of Taxation and Finance Acting Commissioner Amanda Hiller. “The resources available at www.tax.ny.gov can help taxpayers quickly and easily meet their filing obligations and receive any refunds they’re owed.”
Taxpayers who have an income of $73,000 dollars or less in 2022, could qualify to file their federal and New York State income tax returns for free through the Tax Department’s website by using File Free.
Help is also available for those filing their taxes. Tax Department representatives will guide you through free tax preparation software and help you file electronically your 2022 federal and state income tax at no cost.
