The county legislature will meet tonight (Thursday) at 5:30 as what it calls a “Committee of the Whole” to go over recommendations from a consultant it hired to assess how well the county pays its employees.
That consultant found ways to improve and hopefully, encourage more applicants for open county jobs, and keep county employees longer.
Following that, the County Legislature’s regular meeting begins at 6 pm with a public hearing on adjustments to the current county redistricting law.
Legislators blame a late census report as the reason to extend the time they have to come up with new districts.
Other agenda items include:
- Cortlandville firefighters recognized for their work on the Suit-Kote fire.
- Independence Day fireworks will be approved for $17,000 along with revised vendor fees at Dwyer Park.
- Equipment purchases include two mowers, a wheel loader, and a used tank truck. Nearly $10,000 will pay for a billboard ad campaign to support development for a system of response for commercially sexually exploited children and trafficked at-risk youth.
