Update 8/14 10:30am: Cortland Police have identified the suspect.
Update 8/12 9:40am:
Yesterday afternoon around 3:50pm, officers and tactical team members from the City of Cortland Police Department alongside officers from the Sheriff’s Office assisted NYS Parole and the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in locating and arresting a wanted man.
CPD say the individual in question was reported to be armed and dangerous and he had barricaded himself inside an apartment at 64 Owego Street in the City of Cortland. It took several hours until he was taken into custody (around 8:15pm). The suspects name is not being released at this time.
No injuries occurred during the incident. Cortland Police say the gun that was reported was also recovered. Additional information will be released sometime next week.

The City of Cortland Police Department, Cortland County Sheriff and the US Marshalls are on scene of a man reportedly barricaded inside a residence at 64 Owego Street in the City of Cortland. Officers arrived at the location around 3:50pm this afternoon.
Owego Street is closed between South Ave. and Scammell Street. Reports show 9-1–1 dispatch had reversed 911 called residents in the area to remain indoors.
It is unknown at this time is officers were trying to serve a warrant at the residence or looking for someone at the residence.
