Law Enforcement Agencies to Conduct High Visibility Engagement Campaign For Labor Day Weekend
Beginning on Friday, August 30th and continuing through September 2nd, law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be conducting their STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign to crack down on drunk and impaired driving.
The Labor Day campaign is one of many area law enforcement agencies conduct throughout the year. Motorists can expect to see an increase in police patrols in both marked and unmarked vehicles as well as sobriety checkpoints.
A free mobile app is available to help those find a safe way home if they do plan to go out and drink. The app called “Have a Plan” is free through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The was created by the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation.
“This app provides you with a timely and convenient resource that enables you to locate and call a taxi service, program a designated-driver list, educate yourself on Blood Alcohol Content levels as well as information on DWI laws and penalties or even report a suspected impaired driver.”
