Lansing Man Arrested After Falsely Reporting Incident to 9-1-1
A Town of Lansing man was arrested on June 17th, after an investigation by Deputies with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office found he falsely reported an incident earlier in the day in the Town of Locke.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says 20 year old Gavin Rushlow of Lansing, called Cayuga County 9-1-1 around 4:15 in the afternoon to report a vehicle he witnessed driving recklessly; Rushlow added he knew who the driver was and that he saw that driver drinking alcohol.
Just a short time later though, the 9-1-1 Center got another call, but this time from the operator of the vehicle that Rushlow called on. The operator informed 9-1-1 he was being harassed by Rushlow. An investigation by Deputies determined that Rushlow had falsely reported the incident.
Deputies arrested Rushlow on the charges of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd, a Misdemeanor. He was processed and issued an appearance ticket. He is due in Locke Town Court next month.
