State Police say a 24-year-old Lansing man killed an unnamed female’s pet rabbit in a microwave on Wednesday (October 24), following an argument the two had engaged in at a residence on Lockerby Hill Road.
Seth C. Decker was arrested with felony charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals on Thursday (October 25) for the crime.
Troopers responded to a gas station in Lansing just before 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 24) after a caller told them Decker threatened to harm her pet rabbit and another person.
The victim told troopers that Decker was angry after an argument and that another person in the residence witnessed the crime.
Decker then reportedly threatened the witness before fleeing the area.
When troopers arrived on scene, they located the rabbit deceased inside the microwave.

He was Decker arrested, arraigned in the town of Lansing Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.
