LakeHouse Cannabis in Cortland Issued Adult-Use Retail Dispensary License by State – Owners Begin Next Steps Towards Opening
During Thursday morning’s New York State Cannabis Control Board meeting in Harlem, New York, the board voted to authorize a total of 34 adult-use retail dispensary licenses, including LakeHouse Cannabis LLC. at the Riverside Shopping Plaza in the City of Cortland.
Owners of LakeHouse Cannabis, Matt and Paul Suits, told X101 News they hope to be fully operational by Memorial Day. Matt cited now that the license is officially approved, they are still required to have a walk-thru by the state. The store will also need to stock inventory, and train staff before they can fully open and have set the tentative opening date on Memorial Day.
“Paul and I wanted to express our sincere gratitude for your incredible patience and unwavering support as we navigated the process of securing our recreational license. It has truly been a journey, and we are overjoyed to finally be moving forward. We also want to extend our deepest appreciation to the State of New York and the Office of Cannabis Management for granting LakeHouse Cannabis the opportunity to serve our wonderful Cortland community.” Matt Suits said.
LakeHouse Cannabis officially applied for their dispensary retail license a number of years ago with the state. The business is a family-owned operation with roots in the Cortland area. Both Matt and Paul Jr. say they have a commitment to provide quality cannabis products and create meaningful jobs.
LakeHouse Cannabis will now be the second licensed retail dispensary within Cortland County. The Cannabis Control Board approved a retail license back in September last year to Classy Canna, LLC. which is located within the Village of Homer.
