Know Someone Who is 100 Years Old or is Turning 100 This Year? Office of Aging Wants to Honor Them
The month of May has been well known at Older Americans Month, since 1963 in fact. The month provides an opportunity for people to celebrate and honor the contributions older adults have made within their communities. For Cortland County, the Office for Aging will mark the special occasion with special events and activities which will highlight the impact and legacy of older residents within the county.
Cortland County says as part of the celebrations, the Office for Aging will be recognizing residents who are either 100 years old or will be reaching the major milestone this year. Part of the appreciation will have members of the Office of Aging’s Older Americans Act Advisory Council personally delivering a small gift to centenarians throughout the month of May.
The county is asking anyone who knows a resident who is 100 years old or is turning 100 this year, to contact the Office of Aging by April 25th by calling (607)753-5060 to ensure they will receive recognition.
