Kidnapped Woman From Ithaca Dies After Police Shootout

An update from the Kidnapping case that occurred yesterday morning in the City of Ithaca.




34 Tatiana N Davis has died from injuries sustained after a shootout occurred between her kidnapper (Michael Davis) and Virginia State Police.

Around 9:40 pm last night, Virginia State Police found a vehicle with an improper registration of the wrong license plate displayed on the vehicle. State Troopers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle refused to stop and fled from Troopers.

The vehicle eventually struck a guardrail while fleeing, but continued to flee from police. The SUV eventually ran off the right side of the road and crashed into the woods.

As Virginia State Police approached the vehicle, Michael Davis began to shoot at Troopers. State Police returned fire. Both occupants of the vehicle, Michael Davis and Tatiana David were hit from the return fire.

Michael Davis was flown to a nearby hospital for life-threatening injuries. Tatiana David was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency officials.

New York State Police issued a Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert, after Tatiana David was kidnapped by Davis in the City of Ithaca early Wednesday morning.

The alert was canceled around midnight, after New York officials were informed of her death in Virginia. Virginia’s State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Fairfax Field Office is conducting an investigation.
