Kenny Rogers will perform his final concert in Nashville. The event, billed as All In For The Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration, will be a star-studded event taking place at the Bridgestone Arena on October 25th. The show will feature Kenny’s friends and fellow artists Dolly Parton, Little Big Town, Alison Krauss, The Flaming Lips, Idina Menzel, Jamey Johnson, Elle King and many other special guests to be announced in the coming weeks. Kenny and Dolly will close the show with a special duet. All In For The Gambler will be taped for later airing.
Kenny said, “As I’m bringing this chapter of my career to a close, this will be an unforgettable way to celebrate with my talented friends, who I’m so grateful to have crossed paths with. It means so much that they would feel compelled to do this for me. Of course, the night would not be the same without Dolly Parton being part of it. We’ve enjoyed a special friendship for decades, and I’ll forever look back fondly on the many collaborations, performances, and laughs we’ve shared as some of the most extraordinary moments of my career. I know it will be a moving experience for us standing on that stage together for one last time.”
Kenny held a press conference in Nashville yesterday (Tuesday, July 18th) to announce the news where he told reporters the event was Dolly’s brainchild. “Well you know, Dolly it was her idea, we were talking and she said, ‘You can’t go on tour without me and you . . . I mean, you can’t retire without me and you going on stage again and singing something together live for the very last time.’ She said, ‘You need to have a party.’ And she said, ‘You need to have it big enough so all of your friends can come.'” at 10 a.m.
