Kelles, Dryden Officials Praise Passage of Telecommunications Legislation

On Monday, Assemblymember Anna Kelles and local officials in Dryden celebrated the passage of legislation introduced during this year’s legislative session that promises to reshape the telecommunications landscape for residents across New York State.

The measure has a primary focus on extending broadband access to underserved and rural areas. In a statement Kelles called access to internet service incredibly important, and that she was proud to work with local governments leading the charge in ensuring equitable access to reliable broadband. Dryden is a prime example of this effort where municipal fiber optic cable will allow 400 megabytes per second upload and download speeds starting at $45 a month with additional options available.

Dryden Fiber aims to reduce these costs as more and more residents sign up to participate in the program.
