On Demand, What We're Talking About

On the final edition of our weekly segment. May is Mental Health Awareness Month:

Kathy and Dale Taylor are in their fourth term co-teaching a course called “Family to Family” through the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which has a local Finger Lakes office in Ithaca office.

Family to Family is a free 12-week, psychoeducational program is for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness, taught by trained families of individuals living with a serious mental illness themselves.

With three classes still remaining, the program has been on hiatus since the outbreak of COVID-19 prevents them from meeting at their normal space inside the Access to Independence building on Main Street in Cortland.

For more information, visit the NAMI Finger Lakes website here.

A helpline is also available for anyone who may be overwhelmed with worry about a loved one suffering from Mental Illness, by calling (607) 273-2462.
