Homer High School Seniors Kaitlyn Clune and Adam Brown talk with X101’s Vincente Bellardini about this weekend’s musical “On the Town.”
Listen to their short conversation which aired this morning. (March 1)
On The Town” is the classic Bernstein musical about the adventures of three sailors during their 24-hour leave in New York City.Set during World War II, men in uniform were admired and women were finding new confidence and independence as more and more of them entered the work force, so the show has many characters full of personality!Based on a ballet, there are many fun and moving dance numbers as well as songs by Leonard Bernstein, such as “New York, New York,” “I Can Cook, Too,” “Lonely Town,” “Lucky To Be Me.”Although the original movie featured the talents of Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Jules Munshin as the sailors, with Betty Garrett, Ann Miller, and Vera-Ellen as their love interests, we hope you will enjoy our rendition featuring the students of Homer High School on stage, in the pit orchestra, and behind the curtain!Come see “On The Town” Friday, March 1st at 7pm, or Saturday, March 2nd at 2pm or 7pm! Tickets are available at the door.
