After 14 people reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that they had become sick after having affected products; though the actual number is believed to be higher.
The reports are spread across 12 States including New York and have sent two to the hospital already. The FDA is advising people in possession of the product to throw it away immediately.
The FDA states that Jif product lot code numbers are 1274425 through 2140425.
Lot code numbers can be found alongside the best-if-used-by date on the Jif peanut butter products.
