Jax Service Center Announces 4th Annual Turkey Giveaway in November – Looking to Distribute Over 300 Turkeys

Owner of Jax Service Center, Sean Smith, says their annual turkey giveaway is returning once again and will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Smith says the goal for this year’s giveaway is to distribute 300 turkeys to families throughout Cortland County. This year, the giveaway looks to also expand by providing a bag of dinner essentials including rolls, canned corn, stuffing, potatoes, and brownie mix.

Right now, Smith says he is looking for donations of $75 or greater and/or sponsors for this year’s event. X101 News spoke with Smith who highlighted the importance of community and how this giveaway to families to have a nice Thanksgiving is extremely important for him, especially for those experiencing hardship.

Turkeys will be given away to families on a first come, first serve basis at Jax Service Center located at 3845 Route 281 in Cortland. If the event turkeys are unavailable, grocery gift cards will be provided as an alternative.

Previous turkey giveaways organized by Smith and Jax Service Center have drawn in hundreds of families and he says, fosters a strong sense of community for Cortland.
