Ithaca’s Armstrong School of Dance will feature nineteen students from the local area performing in this year’s 96th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Dancers are from the Ithaca, Newfield, Lansing, Moravia, Dryden and Trumansburg school districts. Performers from Armstrong first received an invite to dance in the parade in 2008 following a competition that took place in New York City. They’ve been invited to perform with the Spirit of America Performance Dance Team ever since that time.

Officials with the school say the best time to see the dancers is likely to be between 11 and noon performing the song Run Run Rudolph. The parade will be watched by more than 3.5 million people in Manhattan and more than 50 million people worldwide.
