On Sunday morning, a high speed pursuit that began in Schuyler County made its way up route 13 and through the city of Ithaca.
IPD was notified of the chase just after 9 am.
Officers immediately cleared out traffic from the 400 block of Elmira Road to the area of Seneca and Meadow Streets.
The pursuit was terminated a short time later out of concern for the safety of other motorists and pedestrians.
No suspect was ever located.
However, the vehicle was found abandoned in the area of W State St and Brindley St.
Witnesses described the driver as a white male, dark hair, full beard, and wearing all dark clothing. He is believed to have fled the area on foot.
