Around 3 in the morning, on Wednesday, April 12th, officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Plain Street in the City of Ithaca for subjects yelling and a single gunshot being heard.
Upon arrival by officers, blood was found in the area of the call. A continued investigation by officers, they were able to determine a suspect was able to force his way inside a residence and a dispute then occurred inside.
Both the victim of the gunshot and the suspect, neither were a resident of the building, had already fled the scene of the crime before police arrived. The victim, who police have not identified, ended up suffering a nonlife-threatening injury as a result of a gunshot and was transported to an area hospital.
