Around 9:00 am Tuesday morning, Ithaca Police responded to the area of Geneva Street and Seneca Street in the City of Ithaca for a reported robbery that had occurred ten minutes earlier.
As officers spoke with the victim of the robbery, they learned the suspect was described as a white female, thin build, 5’7” tall, blonde hair, and wearing all black clothing.
The victim told officers the suspect approached them by surprising them and then demanded the victim give up a personal bag they were carrying. The suspect pulled the bag away from the victim by force and was last seen fleeing the area on foot towards Albany and Buffalo Street.
Officers combed the area and found the victim’s property located outside an entrance to an apartment building in the 300 block of W. Buffalo Street. A review of the building’s security cameras showed a female matching the description given to officers entering the building. IPD located the female suspect and arrested her.
The suspect was identified as 27 year old Caitlin T. Albrecht of Ithaca. IPD charged her with Robbery in the 3rd, a Felony. She is currently being held for arraignment.
