Around noon on Thursday, March 16th, the Ithaca Police responded to the area of the 500 block of West Seneca Street for a burglary alarm.
While investigating, IPD stopped a man who had just left the area of where the alarm was issued in the area of North Meadow Street within the City of Ithaca. The man stopped by police also matched the description of multiple recent thefts and burglaries that had occurred in Ithaca.
Police identified the man as 39 year old Lawrence Williams Jr. of Ithaca, and charged him with Burglary in the 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd, both Felonies, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, both Misdemeanors.
Williams Jr. was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail. Due to Williams Jr. being arrested on multiple investigations, Ithaca Police say further charges are likely.
