Around 10:45 at night last Thursday, officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to an apartment at Ithaca Arthaus at 130 Cherry Street in the City of Ithaca for a reported armed robbery.
As officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim who informed officers of 4 black males who entered the apartment he was located in without permission. The victim stated that one male began to strike him in the head and face with a gun and another in the group armed with a rifle.
The four men then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the apartment after assaulting the victim, as well as numerous items including electronics.
IPD officers searched the area for the suspects, but were unable to locate them. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening facial injuries.
The investigation into the robbery and assault is ongoing, IPD says. Anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the four suspects is asked to contact IPD via their tip-line at 607-330-0000.
