Ithaca Police responded to a shots fired call around 3:45 in the morning on Thursday in the area of North Plain Street and West Seneca Street in Ithaca.
As officers arrived, they located one male who was already deceased with apparent gunshot wounds. Ithaca Police have identified the victim as 45 year old Ernest Lankford of Ithaca. IPD sas the homicide was not a random act.
No additional information on the homicide is being released at this time. IPD was assisted by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
