Police continue to investigate a shooting from Tuesday (Feb. 16) morning that took place after a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Cascadilla and Fifth Streets.

Part of the incident was caught on camera.

Authorities released the footage below, asking for members of the public to see if they can help:

A stabbing reported nearby last night (February 17) is not believed to be related, according to IPD.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Cascadilla Street just after 6 pm, where they found a male victim with a serious laceration to his chest.

He was treated at the scene by Bangs Ambulance and Ithaca Fire Department, then flown to a regional trauma center.

The victim was unable to provide a suspect description, but police believe the two knew each other and that it was not a random act of violence.
