Ithaca Police Investigate Burglary – Suspect Sought

Early Wednesday morning, September 20th, around 4:40, officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to the 100 block of Williams Street in the City of Ithaca for a report of a Burglary in Progress.

After officers arrived on scene, they learned an unknown female suspect had damaged a window to a front door of the residence and entered. Various household items were grabbed by the suspect. She then placed the items outside of the residence before she was confronted by the residents of the building. After the confrontation, the suspect fled the scene.

Ithaca Police say the suspect was described as a heavy-set black female, 5’8” tall, wearing a white crop top, gray sweatpants with a Cornell logo on the thigh, a red scarf around her hair and a black face mask.

IPD is asking anyone with information to contact the department via their tip-line at 607-330-0000. The investigation remains ongoing.
