Back on May 24th, Ithaca Police responded to a report of sex abuse that occurred within the City of Ithaca. IPD says the victim got into an Uber when the Uber driver drove to a nearby location and parked the car instead of transporting the victim to their requested location.

After the vehicle was parked, Ithaca Police say the driver then got into the backseat of the vehicle and then pinned the victim down and began to forcibly touch the victim. The victim was able to escape from the vehicle, run away, and then call for help.

Following an investigation into the incident, Ithaca Police arrested the driver of the Uber on June 17th. The driver was identified as 33 year old Salah-Eddeen M. Mikki of Syracuse. He was charged with Sexual Abuse in the 1st, a Felony. Mikki was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and was then ordered to appear in Ithaca City Court at a later date.

Ithaca Police is asking if anyone has further information and/or similar experiences, to contact IPD at (607) 272-9973.
